Bomb Jack SG-1000 level select's origin

I know the level select code was already known, but I was playing this game today and got an item that led me to a Engrishy message in the lines of "You are lucky player, press right three times and down two times to select level, now try game".
Just in case it wasn't known and somebody would like to look into it. I'm sorry I have no idea of how I triggered it in one of the first levels.
I think this was an S coin, but then I also got an R coin that made me repeat the level from the beginning. Odd stuff.

You are correct. It is the S item. It displays this screen in which you are being told the level select code (you input this combination on the title screen, but I found I had to do it twice), and it also skips the level you're currently on.
S item in the lower left hand corner.
"You are lucky player"
(The reason it says Round 10 in the upper and Round 2 in the lower screenshot is that I failed to take a snapshot of the first S item before I collected it.)
