Game Gear rarity list PAL ???
Post Posted: Sat Jan 19, 2008 3:30 pm
Hello, I want to know if there is a list of the game gear games, with the rarity, similar to the master system list of digittpress.

I have that Brynaldo made, but I don't know if there is a new list.

Thanks!

Is this based on your opinion or have you done proper research?

for example the rarity list on sega8bit of SMS games was based on months of watching ebay - 30,000 games were recorded and then the rarity info was extracted from that - it still isnt perfect.

I've made a lot more games into 1's and I've added a couple of 6's, Sonic Blast for obvious reasons, and Gamepack 4in1. A lot of people i've spoken to didn't even know that 4in1 came boxed. I've seen a lot more boxed copies of Sonic Blast on ebay than i have of 4in1.

Thanks a lot for your time littlegirl's and Brynaldo :)

I could never imagine that battletoads is 5.... I am lucky, I have that game since years (it is one of the 5 games that I had of game gear when I was a child).

And 4 in 1 boxed???? is that a joke, or is it true??? Any photo???

I remember that in Spain the only way to get that game was buying a a 4 in 1 pack game gear, with the console:

Wow! awesome photo!!

Thanks for the info, it's the first time that I see that game boxed.

For the moment, I'm going to collect cheap games, because I want to finish my master system collection first, but I think that I have a good number of game gear games for the moment, with some 5's and 4's (I remember that I asked you some time ago about some games)

And another thing, perhaps galaga 2 must be a 5 too, am I wrong??

PD: Did you make photos to your game gear PAL collection???

To be honest, that GG list looks a little shaky to me - is it based on numbers or subjective opinion? Cos the latter's always pretty sketchy and tends toward rating expensive-and-well-known-but-not-actually-*that*-rare games higher than the "secret" rares that no-one cares about. Tarzan seems to be missing from the list too.

I started compiling numbers from eBay to work on a GG rarity list, but gave up after (I think) a few thousand. I'll be happy to send the numbers to anyone else if they fancy continuing it.

Oh, and I remember forgetting to bid on a boxed 4-in-1 that slipped by unnoticed a couple of years ago with no bids. I contacted the seller about it after the fact but never got any response :(

Yeah, my attempt was simply based on my personal opinion done over 5 minutes, didn't realise Tarzan was missing from litlegirl's original attempt, that would be a 5 pushing a 6.

I guess Galaga 2 could be made a 5, it seems to pop up in australia more than anywhere else, not sure why.

I haven't yet taken photo's of my collection, i keep meaning too, but i either can't find the time or i'm just lazy.

As far as game cover-art console boxes go, I have the Lion King, Jungle Book and Aladdin boxed GGs. And a couple of different 4-in-1 cover art boxes.

I don't have the Asterix one yet :o( I've seen a couple on ebay in France, but the sellers were both reluctant to post abroad.

Right, I have now officially started scanning my entire collection. I want to try and get it finished for summer. I don't have an awful lot of time spare, but i'll try fitting in an hour or so every night I can.

I'm doing box front, box back, instruction cover and cart for all games first, i'll also write all the product codes down as I go.

I was thinking of making a game gear archive website, but i've not got the first idea about creating one, so i'll look into that too. I will, of course, provide smspower use of all my pics.

Great idea Brynaldo!!!

I have to buy a new scanner (mine is broken) because I want to add some scans for the web of my Spanish magazines :)

I have the complete collection of a magazine that was called in Spain "Todosega" (Translation will be EverySega or something similar), and I remember that in those magazines were reviews of some unreleased games.

I wanted to give some love to the GG section also but since moving to a 64bit OS I can't get any drivers for scanner. I am thinking of using my laptop instead and transferring them from there.

Galaga 2 went for £60 a couple of weeks back, but i've seen it go for less than a tenner before.

Kixx versions are a lot rarer, don't tend to see many about at all. To my knowledge there are 5 - Road Rash, Star Wars, James Pond 2, Strider Returns and Winter Olympics. But there could be more.

hi brynaldo, thanks.
There is also a kixx hulk. Is 10€ a good price for it or other kixx versions?

Seems like the Sega Game Pack 4 in 1 was sold more in Essex, as the last ebay auction you were also bidding on included also Popils which has the same sticker on the back of the box.

BTW I am missing the Disney double pack in the rarity list and do you know rarity ratings for the classics versions

Some games were featured in magazines, or shown as future releases by companies but then never released. This could be the case for Greendog.
