Master System Mythology, Geography & Biology

I've probably brought this up before, but I can never seize to be astounded about how the games are connected.

Space Harrier (welcome to the fantasy zone!)
Action Fighter (with the Hang On motorcycle)
Quartet (the Alex Kidd & Teddy Boy cameo)
a few examples.

Also, I've been thinking about gathering information about the gods and beliefs in the games. Like all the different heads of the boss in Wonder Boy, what are the differences, do they each have a certain personality?

What sparked my thoughts was the clues you get in Wonder Boy in Monster Land about the Sphinx. How he mentions other games (Like After Burner). It opened up a world that tells so much more about the reality they live in.

And what different worlds there are like Fantasy Zone, Monster Land, Radaxian and so on.

It would be cool to collect information about the different monsters.
Like a wiki where you could check information about all the different types of snakes for example, what environment they live in, how many hit points they have etc.

I think some of the crossovers are not particularly meaningful. Namechecking other games isn't necessarily a sign of some underlying game universe - if in Phantasy Star we see that Gamer Miki likes the FM sound in Space Harrier, it doesn't mean the Master System exists in the PS universe.

As for listing all games featuring snakes, I don't think that's very useful to know. If, on the other hand, you want to make an article comparing the snakes in different games then by all means go ahead.

But think what it means to PS1-3 storyline if Sega due that conversation is assumed to be known in Algol! Earthlings have been there before PS1!

Hah, as a kid I just assumed it was one of Sega's ways of advertising their other games. I'm pretty sure there are other companies that name dropped their other games in the 8bit era as a way of free advertising too.

Alex Kidd in High Tech World is basically a whole advertisement for SEGA.

I don't think those cameos were overarchingly planned by a grand master but rather left by amused developpers, probably referring to their past work or to work from colleagues friends. As thus I don't think they form a consistent "world". But it would be nice to gather them and attempt to make some connections.

Diverging a little from the original post, but it'd be nice if we can collect screenshots of those cameos - plus the many Sonic cameos.
