svn.smspower.org seems to be down

The host name resolves, but the server seems to be down for some reason (which makes updating the gentoo ebuild for mekanix (still stuck on 0.70) a bit of a problem)
Any info on uptime? |

Sorry, we indeed lost the server about 3 months ago and haven't got to create a new one yet. We have backup of the virtual machine + the SVN data but need a host for it.

List of SVN hosting links: http://www.straw-dogs.co.uk/09/20/6-free-svn-project-hosting-services/
Of those: I would suggest Google Code (which requires a Google account) or Sourceforge (though chossing SF would entail re-licensing MEKA to an OSI-compliant license) |

Google Code also requires you to use one of a small set of OSI licences.
I could run an SVN server these days, but it'd be very slow, not least because it'd be on the same machine as Transmission :P |

Well the big question would be... is MEKA (in the latest possible sources on SVN) ready to be licensed under an OSI-compatible license?
Licenses that SF will accept:
They also accept any other license considered open-source by the OSI, and one can type in their own license and hope that SF.net considers it open-source |

MEKA is ok with a BSD like license, but we want to host different other projects on the server and not have to bother too much with license issues.
(Note that I worked on KunKun2 on GoogleCode, I think it works great and the issue tracking also is great) |

In any case, the article has a list of Free SVN hosts to pick from.

We prefer not to rely on free services in general, at least without having a decent way to backup the data. Google Code is at least a little less likely to disappear overnight (as a company, not as a service).
Hmm, TortoiseGit exists... distributed hostless VCS might be the way to go. |
