Hi:

I´d like to show you the new cartridges I develop with lots of help.
They are designed and printed in 3D printer by my friend Luxifer.
Without his help impossible to do that.
This is just the beggining because my idea is make games from 0 , and in a near future never use more donor carts.
I add some pics, with this carts, the cart for the master everdrive, a cart for a 3 color led.
Please see the photos and feel free to ask/comment what you think because new ideas are welcome.

Thanks for reading

What's the cost? 3D printing was really expensive in the past...

My friend already got the 3D printer, it costs around 1 thousand euro the machine at home and needed you to assem it.
We tried different materials because I want to do it stronger but ABS plastic is very difficult to work because normally curves when its solidifing.
We print in PLA that cost 1kg around 20 euros and around 7 hours to make the 2 parts of the cart and with a few luck we print normally 20 carts.
The carts have a lot of variatons from the original to do it stronger, for example the interiors triangles are fatter than the original.
More or less this are the numbers.

if you're printing the shells, you no longer need donor carts if you use PCBs like the ones db-elec it's making.
see this:

can you print (small) batches for us too?

The idea is make lots of them.
This is just the beggining because this are one color carts and a vinyl stick in color, we hope in next months work with various colors and make better design. My idea is 1 design for every game, not the games of the past, the games that people with talent are doing now and in the future. About the PCB, my idea is make something really cheap based on the 315-5912 mapper chip and make give a easy way for the programmers to do physical copies of their games.
In a few weeks will be the most important event about videogames in Madrid, hope to get new ideas and help to factory my PCB.

you mean the chip functionality or the actual chip? because you'll need donor carts again, then :|

My idea is a totally new PCB with a mapper chip new too ready to work with 1mb roms. Just burn an eprom, soldering and game done, easy way for make games. I hope in nex months test the first wave of prototypes and now is only a design in a paper. I still working

VERY COOL. I love that 3D printing is becoming viable for projects like this.
