After Wonder Boy 3, Golvellius ;)



- Auto save in password house

- When you enter a password (with the password menu) you start at the beginning of the Valley

- With a save you start WHERE you've taken the password

- GAME OVER screen give no more password (in the original game give only a password when start with "new game")

- I've slightly modified the game, only 4 enemy / screen (instead of 6), just be be a little bit easier. (you can edit numbe, adr $3129)

Choose "last game continue" to load the save.
If no save already present in sram, start like "new game".

Two version of the patch, with and without the bug fix

Would I be right in thinking the menu is the hardest part of this?

I think we may need a new hacks category, maybe "enhancements"? Or one specific to game saves, perhaps?

Combining patches is rather problematic, so I'm not sure if including the bug fix is good (indicates it works) or bad (user can't choose the features to patch).

I've modified my code to re-start exactly where you get the password (so you will not have to go from the start point).

Wow! This is wonderful! Thanks a lot for this! :) This is one of my favorite games of all time, but the password system is really keeping me from playing it as often as I'd like. You've solved my problem!

I didn't want the enemy count to be reduced so I tried to edit back the original value, but I cannot understand how it's supposed to be done. This is what I see. Am I on the right track?

Apply the ips patch on the rom.

Then open an hex editor and go to offset 0x3129.

It's wonderful the sram hacks you've made @ichigobankai and the request I have is to keep the original gameplay on the number of enemies besides the actual patch oriented to casual gamers, thanks.

I have to agree. The patch is wonderful, but that part:

Boo :P maybe add another Easy/Hard selection menu?

Why not just separate them into multiple patches? I suspect they do not overlap.

This is exactly the same as ichigobankai's original (bugfix) patch, except that six enemies will spawn instead of four (as in the original game).
