You should , specially because you're also a developer and having the real system is always better than any emulator around .;)

This is a great mod, made with obvious love and care.

I really like the new Alex sprite, as well as the subtle updates on the standard enemies from the original game. The new level graphics are superb, with excellent use of colours. You really nailed the look of the original while slightly improving on it. I can easily imagine that an actual sequel on the Master System would have looked exactly like this.

If I had to nitpick, I'd say that you are maybe a little too fond of having background graphics in front of sprites, and that the levels tend to be a bit long. Additionally, ending an Alex Kidd level by touching a hamburger still feels wrong to me after all these years. Rice ball level end all the way!

Agree philippe. As i feel right with the platform (the limits it impose on you does not let dreamin too much) and im planning new ideas seems the way to go.

Great hack with lovely additional graphics. It has a unique game play feel that i find quite addictive. It might be nice to hear a new tune thrown in there for some levels. As others have said it is not hard to imagine Sega releasing something very much like this as a sequel to the original.

Hi - could somebody please direct me to the "original" copy of "Alex Kidd in Miracle World" that is used for the hack? I'm new to checking out hacks so not sure if I've done something wrong here [or just using a different / "incorrect" version of the original ROM] but when I patch the copy of "Alex Kidd in Miracle World" that I have with the IPS file [using instructions + download from http://www.smspower.org/Hacks/HowToUseBPSAndIPSPatchFiles] I am able to launch the patched ROM and see the title and intro screens OK but after the screen clears for game play I get graphics glitches and hissing noise :( Thanks

There's two ROM images, you probably didn't use the BIOS version, but the cart version is often found with headers which break patching.
