Oh finally I'm after the brazilian compilation roms I cannot find them anywhere? I mean the "Game Box" roms.

I believe these are like the "Master Games" cartridge (and many pirate carts) in that they're hardware multi-games - you toggle the power to switch to the next game, the ROM just contains the regular game data concatenated and as a result, when you load them in an emulator you just get the first game. I have an image of Game Box Serie Esportes that was made this way; the available images of "Super Futebol II (BR)" and "Wimbledon (BR)" came from it.

Maxim could you please help me get the roms or IPS patch to make those games 2D? The rest already have a 2D option inbuilt by a code or pressing a button on the 2nd controller I believe.

The Korean version of Woody Pop released today called "Super Arkanoid" is a hack that replace paddle control inputs with regular controller.

I'd be interested in an Alex Kidd hack where you'd start with all the items.

This is a little tricky because the game clears RAM on startup and then uses those blank values to make sure you start with no items. It's easier to add them with Meka's memory viewer if that suits you; just look up the addresses from the PAR codes.

Alright. I'd have to dig into that as I've got no knowledge of these things.

Did you graft the Japanese title screen into the Korean ROM or the Korean control routines into the Japanese ROM? Diffs suggest the latter.

Interesting, as the difference between the JP and your patched ROM is very small - it makes a 92 byte IPS. This suggests the KR ROM was a hack rather than a rebuild.

There's still one final touch to make this look good...

I tried this on real hardware and it boots with a "Sega Mark III" instead of "Sega" screen.
Is it possible to change this to "Sega" screen to give it that true Export format feel?

Is it possible to make an IPS for Blade Eagle 3D?

I'm not quite knowledgeble about the process. Or perhaps an explanation of how to apply that patch to a rom myself?

Thanks in advance.

The patch I gave was for meka.pat, you can use a hex editor to edit the byte at the given (hex) address in the ROM if you need that, and then you can make an IPS from the modified ROM.

Got it working, thanks Maxim.
I hadn't realized that it was that easy to apply that patch to the rom.

Hey everyone.
Can someone fix/improve this 3D to 2D hack made by Maxim?
Missile Defense 3D: ROM[1282]=C3
Only the enviroments are in 2D, the missiles are still in 3D.
Thanks

Blade Eagle worked fine in 2D.
Maze Hunter displays a black screen.
Missile Defense needs some more fixing as stated above.

It's actually quite a tricky one, there is no central state bit controlling the view.

Thank you! This one works.

I've tested by patching a ROM and running on a Jailbroken Mega Sg. :)

Hi there. I'm interested in trying Maze Hunter 3D as a 2D game.
I am however not familiar with rom hacking at all. Could you upload the ips-file for the Maze hunter hack?

btw, is there anyone who have succeded in hacking Alex Kidd BMX Trail with control pad compatibility? Could not find any listed Hack in the forum.

This is really helpful, thank you! Here's an IPS patch for the Japanese Mark III version of Maze Walker.

Apply to 128K 'Maze Walker (J) [!].sms'

edit 2: new version uploaded, this just fixes a stray bit I accidentally flipped. the game is still double speed

edit: be warned, this patch has the unfortunate side-effect of doubling the game speed! i have not yet found a fix for that, but i am sure it is possible

One more, since I finally got and dumped the cartridge for this:

Apply to 128K 'Missile Defense 3-D (USA, Europe, Brazil).sms'
sha256:aa6603336aad6296d98fae4c693ea2a01136c3581c052ae039dbdd0b7a5ac20e Missile Defense 3-D (USA, Europe, Brazil).sms

md5:b17ca24555cc79c5f7d89f156b99e452 Missile Defense 3-D (USA, Europe, Brazil).sms
mekacrc:32DAD3B36F53F7B5 Missile Defense 3-D (USA, Europe, Brazil).sms
crc32:fbe5cfbb Missile Defense 3-D (USA, Europe, Brazil).sms

Maybe somebody else has some idea for how to further patch it to support the Sports Pad for use on non-CRT displays? Unfortunately I don't!

Can anyone actually finish a level on Maze Hunter 2D ?
Once I get to the lowest floor, I fall through it and die, this doesn't happen in the 3D version.

Tried on different emulators and real hardware.

Edit: Figured out the lower the level the more the image is out of sync in the 2D hack. Standing in the black space to the left actually activates the floor detection.

The patch file from earlier in this topic, used online ROM patcher at ROMHacking.net

I have attached a screenshot to my previous post showing the avatar safely standing in the void. It's not an issue until hitting the lowest view part of stages.

No, I think it will require tracing in depth to figure out how to fix it. One option might be to output every frame twice

If any is interested in hack Super Racing (SMS) with real names drivers here is the season base used:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1988_Formula_One_World_Championship
It´s easy compare names. For example: Prest=Prost.
Well, some + info:
https://www.smspower.org/Screenshots/SuperRacing-SMS
The driver that appear in title screen is Martin Brundle. Now a curiosity:
The Japanese case box show 2 cars- Williams and Ferrari. In Ferrari is Michele Alboreto but in other Williams would be Nigel Mansell like as "Official" Driver. Mansel was injuried and replaced for Brundle for some GPs. However, Brundle raced in Mansell´s car with number 5. The box show a Williams number 6 car which dont was used for Brundle or Mansell but Patrese. In case box is showed a car 6 and the pilot using the helmet used for Brundle and not Patrese.
