Clarifications on Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap: Cheats.

TLDR: You (also) need 99 stones to "create blocks anywhere"
I've noticed a discrepancy with the following trick on /Cheats/WonderBoyIII-SMS:
There are some preconditions beyond simply having these equipped: * You need 99 stones to "create blocks anywhere" (such as over any texture, or over doors). Without 99, stones you can only create blocks over the plain sky background. Compare UX1C 7G0 060D R0A and UX1C 7G0 062D R1A (same effect on both SMS and GG). * If you start out with a minimal equipment set, like AW1E 7G0 062D R3J, where "Knight Shield" and "Goblin Mail" are pre-equipped, you still must go into the menu and re-equip them manually to start creating blocks. * If you use all the "Fire Ball" you can continue to create blocks without them, unless you go to the menu (similar to the Hades armor bug). Another interesting stone threshold: If you are Hu-Man and have 99 stones, you get unlimited magic usage. Compare AC3E 3G0 060D R2G and AC3E 3G0 062D R3G. Not a terribly useful cheat (but it does explain why the "WE5T 0NE" password gives you unlimited magic). |
