Hi,
Is there an alternative to mod2psg2? It doesn't seem to work on Win10 64

There's Deflemask, SnevenTracker, and I believe VGM Music Maker are good candidates for the SMS soundchip.

I'll let an actual composer correct me though.

That's weird, i've been using mod2psg2 on win10 x64 without any issues, what error are you getting?

I'm a big fan of Deflemask, but I can't get it to behave when making SMS music.

I have these dlls in my mod2psg2 folder:

freetype.dll
kontechs_mgi.dll
libpng.dll
msvcr71.dll
zlib1.dll

if you're missing one of them, it might be the problem.
If you need/want my mod2psg2, send me a pm, i can send you the entire folder.

yeah, I don't have the MSVCR71.dll.... that looks like a redistributable. If I can find which one that is, I could just add it to PATH and never have this problem again(i think)

I've installed 2010 and 2008 and still have the same problem.

i've put the version i have on the mod2psg2 on my server.

The 71 is the version number corresponding to Visual C version 7.1. I believe that was part of Visual Studio 2003. The offered download should work just fine though.

I’d used the link provided by tibone. The only official way to get that file is to instal .net framework 1.1 or visual studio 2003. Neither will install on anything newer than windows 7.

We do - there's a music software section on the site and I think we have some dev tools too. It all needs maintenance though.

OK I forgot that. We need to keep a copy of the last version of Mod2PSG2 with all the libraries needed (tibone may provide that) and it's missing VGM Music Maker too (I see if I can find a copy)

Yeah, i have a working copy of mod2psg2 2.04, if anyone needs.

I don't know which VGM Music Maker version is the last one, but here's v1.52
