Sneventracker vgm help
Post Posted: Sat Dec 09, 2017 12:15 pm
Sneventracker doesn‘t have proper vgm export, but it does have an option for logging vgm files. Unfortunately, that means that trimming and loop points have to be added manually. This is where I run into problems. I don‘t seem to be able to make the files loop correctly. I always end up with a track with a couple of seconds of silence at the end that loops back to the wrong point.

Anyone have experience with this particular problem?

The stupid thing is that I already had it all figured out about half a year ago, but I have forgotten how I did in the meantime. I do remember there was some trick to it, but not what it was.

VGMPlay has an auxiliary .exe that finds loops in vgm files.

Finding the loop point wasn‘t the problem. I knew where it was. The problem was that the vgm created by Sneventracker seemed to disagree.

I think I got it figured out at least partly, though. Apparently, the tracker, even though it‘s supposed to stop when the song ends, sometimes keeps recording for a couple of seconds and then it may or may not write the wrong length to the header.
