And download MP3. This is a gem!

Yo! Nick and Steve, you coming out tonight?
No man, we're staying in to check out our brand new Sega console
Sega! What's that?
Check this out!

Ya! Master System costs from eighty pounds
One-to-eight colours, three channel sound
Yeah they got more games than fish in the docks
Like Operation Wolf and Psycho Fox
Golden Axe R-Type World Games Chase HQ World Soccer Baseball Wonderboy II
This list of games goes on and on and on
The Sega posse is over hundred strong

CHORUS: Sega! Sega! Sega!

Yeah man, sounds dope, tell me more
Yeah OK

As well as a console you get a light phaser
With Wild West War, games to amaze ya
3-D glasses will blow your mind
Better peripherals you cannot find
Def joysticks that simply flow
Rapid fire units, bo, bo, bo
Waiting for games to load is Wik-wak
We say Sega games load straight away

CHORUS: Sega! Sega! Sega!

Blow you mind in a Fantasy Zone
Turn to other consoles - got nobody home
Your mutant just ain't a hit
And your grey imports just don't fit
Into any known British TV
So it's obvious to me
Check out your local dealer
Not for drugs
But for Sega

How d'ya spell that G S.E.G.A.
The hottest, most respected console on the streets today

CHORUS: Sega! Sega! Sega!

Yeah we got the Master System in the house
Yeah Boy!
What is this Sega anyway?
Donatello, Raphaelo, grey imports, pizzas - dis 'em boy!
Gis a go, know what I mean?
Mega Drive, buy one today
Oh come on boys, it's party time, man
Yeah Sega man
Wot! Gis a go on your joystick!
We're outta here, like last year
Sega! Sega!
Mega Outrun Top-score
See-ya Do me a favour!

Sega yeah
Gimme gimme Sega
Wow wow wow....

Hey All,

I assume this was from an audio tape??

As it turns out this actually was not all that good of a recording. It was recorded way too high and well that game me no headroom to play with the EQ.

The file which is posted below is the song still at the same levels but with the background hiss removed.

The downside to doing anything of this matter is you will loose some of the mid to low end of the song just a tiny bit as noise reduction has mostly to do with how you use the EQs.

The only other thing I could try is lower the levels to around half the current volume and then tweak with the EQs to get a cleaner sound, this would be fairly hard as the recording is quite low and muffled from the start, but if this cleaned file is good enough that I will leave it at that.

I did all this audio processing with all EQs flat (including the software, soundcard, and my mixer EQs). This should allow for an un-biased sound.

Please post your comments on what you think. As I said it is quite hard to do this and without any reference monitors (studio speakers) its even harder.

Umm it turns out I cannot attatch it because I have exceeded my quota, I will speak to Bock or Maxim about this, they may be able to help me out.

I "may" still have it tucked away in a box in the basement.

The real name is M C's Nick & Steve "Do me a favour" Master mix ' 90.
It was a free gift on a UK mag, forget the name as a Starlight Foundation promotion. On the B side is 'GODS' (Sega SMS console) radio ad and a bit by Gary Davies about the foundation. It includes the lyrics and the SMS was 79.99 pounds, SMS Plus 99.99 pounds with light gun, games started at 9.99 pounds Virgin ads on the insert. Mega Drive & Power base converter 119.99 pounds.

I plan to sell the tape one day. What do you think it's worth?

ps. I'll try to record the sound to the Sega ad later. The quality will be bad thou.

If I could offer some tips, don't record the stuff into your PC too loud it will create problems later on in the process of cleaning up the sound file.

Try to use the best quality tape deck as you can and if need be you may have to clean the heads.

If its been stored in its case though you shouldn't have too many problems.

Umm how did you encode that file??

for a WMA at 96Kbps it seems awfully un-clear.

could you possibly re-encode the file at a higher bit-rate??

Also is the tape in better condition for the side A then my cleaned up file, if so feel free to re-rip it.

Thanks for that Furanku, greatly appreciated.
