[Forums] Suggestion: Auto-refresh forum index
Post Posted: Mon Jan 09, 2006 2:24 am
Hi there,

I would like to propose a simple refresh for the forums index page, cause I keep it open most of the time to see new posts.
Some setInterval or meta refresh, and you can always insert a simple radio on the users preference page to make it optional..... or not !

Cheers and btw californa games vgm's are AWESOME.

Yes that is a very good idea

And just as the dude from calfornia games said "go thrasher", my cousin still says it today, it helps when my cousin races at the drags.

If you want an auto-refresh I suggest you can find some Firefox extensions to offer this feature. I'd say it would be better if you could use the RSS feed in your favourite RSS aggregator - here it is at Google:

OK let's play by the rules.
I've spent 20 minutes to find a good lightweight GPL RSS reader:
http://www.feedreader.com

Can't find how to make it display the webpage instead of the teaser, any clues ?
It's good to see the thread history (and save a click).

At the bottom of the "teaser" you've got:

Actions Read on | Comments | Mail

"Read on" links to the post in your browser, "Comments" links straight to the reply page, and "Mail" is pretty useless. Some feed readers support skipping the "teaser" and just jump straight to the main page, but I didn't find the option in this one.

Maxim,

I don't have Mail listed here.
It's done in Delphi, must be simple to do that option, already got the sources.
And how do you call "teasers" ?
Thanks for looking up the app.
