Phantasy Star Complete Soundtrack Soon
Post Posted: Sat Sep 15, 2001 2:30 am
Hello,

I've got save states for every location in Phantasy Star, so expect a soundtrack soon. Unfortunately, all of the rips will be in FM mode, so you won't be able to enjoy them until someone adds YM2413 support to the fledgling .VGM players out there, or until I finish vgm2mid.

How could you trim the FM versions if you can't hear them yet ?

FM detection happens once, when the game is started. Any subsequent savestates will force FM to be enabled; in other words, a savestate with FM can't be used to get PSG music.

Oh, OK, guess I have to finish the game myself then. I completed
it only a couple of months ago on real hardware so shouldn't take
that long if I play with 9 frameskip.

Hello,

I managed to get some save states that you can use to log the game's 19 music tracks. I can eMail them to you if you like.
