The cover art for G-LOC - Air Battle depicts the photograph of a combat plane. Anyone knows which specific fighter plane could it be? | |

I can see something like "HR 682" written on the tail, but i'm afraid that info it's not enough.
Thanks, it seems the plane belongs to that family (at least, it's pretty identical). |

It is interesting that MOST of this game's release show an F-14 Tomcat. It is referred to as: Sega Wing Carrier Fighter: A8M5 Mk II "Zeek" and this name is even on the front of the Japanese Mega Drive box, as well as in the game itself.
It seems this other jet is only on the SMS releases and the Game Gear releases from US and EU (but not JP or Brazil, they have F-14). Also an interesting picture related item, the tail number is removed on the Game Gear US artwork. Tail markings: HR AF BI 682 The tail code is HR = Hahn Air Base, Germany BI 682 = serial number The photo used is from 1982. Here is the exact plane: http://www.f-16.net/aircraft-database/F-16/airframe-profile/1023/ |

It's probably a just a picture they licensed, cheaper than comission a custom drawing.
What is funny is that the in game plane resembles a Tomcat way more than a Falcon. The in-game plane has twin-engines and twin tails, just like the Tomcat. |
