I dug out my Game Gear for the first time in any years. Back in the day, I only knew of a few cheats. I've been searching online for more, and have discovered that I had one written down from long ago that I do not see on any current cheat lists. I don't know how to add to the cheats list here, but here's my cheat for Bonkers Wax Up on Game Gear :

Hold Left-Down, Buttons 1 and 2, and the Start button while turning power on.

Continue holding the other buttons, while pressing and releasing Start slowly a few times, until you get to the game select screen.

Now start the game. Once the game begins, holding button 2 and pressing Start brings up a Level Select menu. While playing a level, holding down button 1 while pressing Start lets you drag Bonkers freely around the level. Holding 1 and pressing Start again releases him and allows you to continue playing.

Confirmed from the code - hold D+L+1+2 until the mode select, pressing Start to progress.
