I have added the voting polls for all entries, polling will run for 10 days :)

Please let me know if you find an issue with the poll (as they are manually created one by one there could be a typo somewhere).

So, voting is until 14 April?

also, for some reason (I guess it started with 2016 devkitSMS compo) I can see the votes. I'd prefer not to - so if you can fix that... thanks!

RESULTS!
Post Posted: Fri Apr 20, 2018 9:00 am
I have updated the results there:
http://www.smspower.org/Competitions

Thanks everyone for participating, hopefully all entrant had fun making their stuff and crafting their skills! (I hope next year I will enter again myself, but the coding competition level has really levelled up in the past years!!)

Coding Competition
- Galactic Revenge (not much of a surprise!! eruiz00 rocks again!)
- Astroswab
- Gemitas
- Simpsons Trivia
- Wah Munchers
- Duckslayer Adventures

Music Competition
- Troublemaker
- Green Hills and Far Away
- Golden Axe Warrior Overworld Theme

Hacks Competition
- KATE
- Fatal Fury Special GG2SMS
- Streets of Rage GG2SMS
- Itchy and Scratchy Game GG2SMS
- Mighty Morphin Power Rangers GG2SMS
- Mighty Morphin Power Rangers the Movie GG2SMS
- Berlin No Kabe GG2SMS
- Streets of Rage II GG2SMS
- Pico 8

We unfortunately don't have enough votes in the Hacks competition to make the order reliable (many entries are ties in). I think next year we should consider a) updating the rules and b) temporarily providing .sms files in the threads to facilitate testing?

Thanks again everyone for participating, coding, playing, composing, listening :)

Congratulations everybody in Comp2k18

Maybe hacks can be 3 subcompetitions,

- Levels Editors Suites, KiddED and TALES hacks
- Assembler hacks
- Graphical hacks

or maybe not

dont think there's enough hacks to justify subcategories.
its just that some type of hacks (the ones that bring new graphics or gameplay) will be more popular than others.

But in the end, this competition is not about winning, it's about celebrating the SMS, and learning and improving your skills.

Agreed - we have few votes and few entries as it is. Hacks are tricky because the amount of work varies hugely depending on what tools are available, as the work to make it possible may or may not be done already. I think the most important thing is to focus on quality, one hack with a huge amount of work is more interesting to me than two with half the work to polish and perfect things.

For this reason I said maybe yes or maybe not ;)

Yes the SMS is more alive now

Hacking level up my skills programming directly in assembler, just not simple coding hex editor, and sharing it to community
