Changing color palettes for certain graphics?
Post Posted: Tue Dec 19, 2017 9:36 am

I'm working on a graphics mod for Double Dragon, and this section in particular always bothered me because of how ugly the palette is.

Is it possible to change the palette on the skin without changing the color of that bridge there?

I'm new to SMS-romhacking.

The bridge is probably using a different palette from the sprites. Edit it in Meka live to see what happens.

Meka live?

You mean edit it while the game is running? How do I do that?

Open the RAM viewer and choose PAL. If the game is refreshing it from RAM then you need to find the source in RAM which is a bit harder.

There is no RAM viewer. There is only "Memory Editor" in the tools menu.

Thanks, figured it out.

How do I save it to the rom?

If you search for the original hex values in the palette, you may find them in the ROM. If not, it's trickier.
