Gamegear works with batteries but not adapter.

I have a game gear here that I recapped, it works fine on batteries but not with the adapter. So there is a problem with the power board.
I did some troubleshooting, and I am lost at the moment. It's not a bad solder joint, and since it works on batteries it must be somewhere in the beginning of the power circuit, but I just can't figure out where.
When measuring the voltage at the jack, the voltage of the adapter is fine, but when measuring the voltage that goes to the regulator chip, or the (same) voltage that is output on the connector to the power board (the one that is 'battery') it measure around 0. It can't be a broken trace since it works on batteries, so it looks like the ground rail is getting the same voltage.
Any suggestions?

To answer my own question.
The power board was not at fault, it was a 'model' I just hadn't seen before. Most power boards have reverse polarity, and the ones with normal polarity have the smaller dc jack most of the times.
This board had a normal dc jack, but also normal polarity...
