Hello!

Our hacks arrive to ebay.

It is really normal, great games are decent to perfect converted.

It would be great to obtain those cover and cartridge arts for flash our games

Shining Force: The Sword of Hayja working ok !!!

Now I need only to adapt patch to other 2 Shining Force games, but do you know what is the best translation???

I'll try to hack original japanese rom, doing it compatible with best translation, remember translation is already a hack

The other two Shining Force games?

From what I heard, the only "translation" of Shining Force Gaiden 1 would be to port the Sega CD remake, which I don't think anyone has done.

And for Final Conflict, I think there is only the one translation because only person was skilled enough to tackle it then.

Hello, thankyou

I read about it, then:

Shining Force Gaiden: Japanese only, (Remake at SegaCD, but not 8bit game)

Shining Force Gaiden 2 = Shining Force: Sword of Hajya (Japanese, English)

Shining Force Gaiden Final Conflict: best English fan translation by Shining Force Central

We hit 3GB total, limit raised. It would help to post IPS instead of roms, the size is much smaller.

Hello seems to be a problem with portuguese hacking translation is adding an extra 1kb, total 257kb then patch does not match.

I am a bit busy these days, when possible I'll do it from "0"

(Dunno if anyone tried yet) I tried the three SF Gaiden conversions on my Mega Everdrive and they're not compatible sadly. All had no sound and were glitchy, Gaiden 2 froze somewhere in the intro and Gaiden 3 froze instanty on the SEGA logo. For some reason, I couldn't skip to title screen when pressing Down.

That's a shame.

I think real hardware compatibility should be a goal of all releases.

Not trying to argue, I thought it was compatible with real hardware.

How can a PCB made nowadays can be real hardware? Everdrive can't make work all games.

In terms of the game playing, Everdrive is the same as a homebrew cart or a cartmod - but maybe Mega Drive compatibility is less important than Master System?

Personally I'd prefer to see fewer releases with more work done on each, but I can see how others may be less fussy.

Fair enough. It is your discretion and work. My concern is when these broken games go into Smokemonster's everdrive packs. There's so many releases it's hard to keep track of them all.

Given that the Mega Everdrive will be how more than a few people will access Master System games on actual hardware, I would rather bang on for Mega Drive compatibility myself.

The simple fact is, a lot of people will take it for being the most economically efficient route. Running both Mega Drive and Master System games from a single cartridge, rather than banging out money for a Master Everdrive.

And the simple fact that people simply have a lot more Mega Drive/Genesis systems available than Master Systems, to boot.

To me, Mega Drive compatibility is paramount, not optional.

Hello!

I remember Ax Battler does not work in Megadrive, not all games are working at Megadrive in Master System compability mode because they are Game Gear games adapted to master system.

VDP hardware is not exactly same with 3 systems.

There are four versions of the VDP:

315-5124 - Used in the Mark III, Sega Master System .
315-5246 - Used in the SMS 2 and later versions of the SMS.
315-5378 - Used in the Game Gear.
315-5313 - Used in the Genesis and Mega Drive.

Best option is Master Everdrive at Master System, I know more expensive than Megadrive Everdrive, but ...

Then it is not a shame, it is simply electronics.

See you ;)

Then you are on the wrong forum.

If you playing Master System games or GG2SMS conversion on Megadrive/Genesis you do it wrong. 2nd time that I'm saying that here, maybe one day people will understand.

ps: It's always a shame to see that people on this topic are more present to criticize other people work rather than enjoying it or saying thank you; so I'm out, no more GG2SMS conversion for me. Peace out.

I think I've got the right to express my opinion, and my opinion is that I'm not really enjoying any conversion that has very little love expressed. I know it requires a lot of work to make conversions perfect, what I said is that I'd love to see quality over quantity... but again, it's just my opinion and if you feel like you don't agree, it's perfectly fine and you should go on your own way - who am I to tell you that you're wrong, correct?

I have quite enjoyed seeing the conversions produced, but my concerns have mostly been over audiences being disappointed that the conversions may not work correctly on their otherwise Master System-compatible hardware. That is all.

It doesn't matter if you're right or wrong about this - The fact is, some people only have a Genesis and either can't afford or don't have room for an SMS.

Please don't forget that MANY people use your conversions. For every one negative opinion (regardless who's right), you have many positive ones. If everyone who used your games posted "thank you", we'd have a 200 page thread and I'd ask people to stop. Try not to get frustrated...it's your time being donated, do what you'd like with it.

You're entitled to your opinion, as we are all entitled to ours. My personal view on these conversions is that I absolutely love that they're being done and I view them as a good start. If you want to convert the whole library so they're ready for others to perfect, that's awesome and it seemed to be a good formula for Tails Adventures: You guys got it started and freezingicekirby went back and tweaked it pretty perfectly.

When I started this thread, the only way to play GG games on a TV that didn't involve emulation was Tim's GGTV kit. Now there's McWill's kit, the NT Mini, the Behar Bros' consolized box...and there will be a few more by the end of this year. I think with all these options, if someone has the choice between playing a glitchy romhack or a bug-free original, they're going to play the original. My hope is more people will step in and help with the tweaking part of the conversion, getting them as perfect as possible. I personally love the Genesis Start button hacks and while I know Revo disagrees, at least it's another cool option that can't be offered in those other solutions.

Revo, take a deep breath and cool off a bit and continue your work when you're ready. The discussion may have seemed negative from your point of view, but people were just expressing their opinions. No need to up and quit because of some bantering about. I know I am always thankful for your new releases and I'm sure everyone is. Your technical skills are amazing and a benefit to the community!
