I guess I'd like to make the licencing of the retranslation more evil, and require people to publish their source if they derive from ours. It seems to me it would help others. Right now it is not licenced at all really.

WOW, just signed up to say this is EPIC. This is one of my all time favorite games and for about a year, I have been thinking about re-playing it from the start again.

This gives me a whole new reason to play this great game again !

You had reason, this bugs still are there. another thing. well i want to make a request, the team or the person, do the english translation, can add spanish characters like -> ¿ , á, é, í, ó, ú, ç.

i download the translation and i am trying to understand how i can make my own translation.

The game had a great bug, when you fight with any dragon of game, automatically, all team is death, the chest never seen, but is open, the team get the reward, and automatically the rom restart the game. this make impossible to finish the game, with the spanish patch.

some years ago i do a video for report to lukas, but i don't have idea if he really saw the video [I force deleted link because a stupid rule and just be a newbie on this forum] try to search in "dailymotion" -> "Phantasy Star 1.0 ParcheEsp Fail" by "Inukaze"

There is very little space for more letters, it would require some enhancements to use mirrored tiles to free up some space. You can also reuse any unused letters in the script. Definitely something you need a coder for.

Portuguese translation for Phantasy Star SMS Power

Greetings. Thank you all for this translation.
I'm using the tools to translate it to brazilian portuguese.
The files that I used for translation are Script1.txt, Script2.txt, Menu.txt, Opening.txt and Lists.txt.
However, I got issues... Can you help me?

-1- Lists.txt contains some preset article system (~ = a , # = an, ^ = the etc). How I can change these english articles to portuguese ones? Is there another file for that? Or, do I need do code this out?
I'm trying to understand the words limits in this file...

-2- About the Status Window (Attack, Defense etc), where can I translate it?

-3- About choose-the-name-to-savepoint screen, How can I translate the "Please enter your name" phrase?

Thank you all for the attention.

EDIT: Can you help me at this Lists.txt file? Anytime I change something, it messes the game. What are the limits for changes there? By charactere? By lines? Both? Is the article use mandatory or optional?

EDIT2: My attempt to translate this is just a work of two men, just some fans of Phantasy Star. Please, inform me of anything to preserve your credits and all. I don't want to cause trouble to you guys.

Hello friend.
I achieved those latim characters this way:
1- Find the file /new_graphics/font1.png
2- You see there's no space for latin characters there, right? So, I had to sacrifice the minuscle characteres from the translation to draw the latim ones. So, after this, all characters in game will be capital, but, using accents. You will need Photoshop or Gimp to do that.
3- However, you must compesate the changes in text files you translated. You must convert all phrases to capital, and, when a special character comes, you must insert the old minuscle letter that existed before the new one! What the heck? I explain:

Here is the original font1.png file:

So, in a text, if you want "BÊNÇÃO" in the game, you must type "BgNydO" in the scripts. You must create a macro for your text editor, making the changes, in this case macro was g = Ê, y = Ç, d = Ã.
You must realized that I repeated some letters in the png file... That's because it was a way to preserve the Status Windows from being disrupted. Once I learn to translate it, I won't need this repetition anymore and gain more space.
