Description

This is originally a track from Disjointed Studio's homebrew game "Weka Invaders", for which I composed the soundtrack. It's a personal favourite of mine so I wanted to make another version of it with the Sega PSG.

Lately I've been using the Sega PSG more like a 3-channel soundchip, using the third tone channel only to provide the frequencies for the noise channel. This means 2 channels of 50% squares and 1 channel of white noise / 6.25% square with the full frequency scale. I didn't want to use any preset noises or tone drums, so the noise channel alone handles all the drums & bass in this track. It really was a challenge to get good noise drums, but doing it this way leaves 2 channels completely free for melodies.
