Development: Little - Endian

There are two standard ways to store data larger than 8 bits: either to store it so the most significant bytes come first, or so they come last:

Both methods have advantages and disadvantages.

The Z80 is a little-endian CPU. That means that:

• when you put a value in register pair hl, the most significant byte is in h and the least significant in l (think: high, low)
• when you write that register pair to RAM, the low byte is stored before the high byte
• when inspecting RAM, or accessing bytes within larger variables, you must remember this to avoid becoming totally confused
