At the title screen, press [Down]+[1].

Invincibility

As soon as the game starts, [Pause] the game and enter [1][1][1][2][1][1][1][2]. Now unpause the game and die without pressing [1] or [2]. When you start a new game your health will still decrease when hit but will replenish when it gets to zero.
