Level select
Hold ![[Up]](http://www.smspower.org/pub/arrows/up.png)
on controller 1, and press ![[Right]](http://www.smspower.org/pub/arrows/right.png)
on controller 2 to increase the starting level. Pressing ![[Left]](http://www.smspower.org/pub/arrows/left.png)
on controller 2 will decrease the starting level. You will hear a tone when increasing/decreasing the starting level. Press ![[1]](http://www.smspower.org/pub/arrows/1.png)
on controller 1 to start the game after selecting your starting level.
Difficulty setting
Pressing or ![[2]](http://www.smspower.org/pub/arrows/2.png)
on controller 2 at the title screen will change the difficulty setting, which is added to the bottom of the screen.
